How can I deploy spring boot application?

(Ryan) #1

I’m looking for a simple way to deploy my spring boot application to a cloud platform like digitalocean or linode.

Hi Wally,

Recently I was facing the same issue and you’ll be glad to know that it’s very easy to deploy a spring boot application in the cloud. just package it as a jar file and run like a normal application. But you have to add nohup before the command and & after so that it can run as a background process even if your terminal is closed.
nohup java --port=80 -jar app.jar &

I’ve written a complete guide for deploying a spring boot application to the cloud. Hope it’ll help.

Hi @sayem bhai,
very helpful tutorial.
Can you write another one for deploying to Amazon EC2?

Thanks in advance.

vaia it’s basically the same as long as you have ssh access. EC2 instance is a cloud instance, and after getting ubuntu installed on that instance, you can follow the same instruction
